Discover Japanese Fermentation: Miso Paste Making Workshop

Join us for a hands-on workshop led by Rieko Hayashi, a Melbourne-based chef with a passion for Japanese fermentation. Rieko has been teaching cooking classes and workshops for over a decade and has hosted several fermentation events at The Fermentary in 2023 and 2024. This is her first collaboration with Ultra Culture, and we’re thrilled to bring her expertise to our space!

During the workshop, you’ll learn all about miso paste—a staple of Japanese cooking that’s not only packed with umami flavor but also great for your health. We’ll guide you through the traditional process of making miso from scratch and share creative ways to use it in your everyday cooking.
